The Asante Empire, which thrived from the 17th to the 19th centuries, was a powerful force in the region, renowned for its military prowess, wealth, and gold trading. The Asante are famous for their vibrant art, including kente cloth weaving, and their traditional ceremonies, such as the enthronement of kings, who are known as Ashantehene. The Asante people have a deep connection to their ancestral traditions and continue to play a significant role in Ghanaian culture.
