Kingmoor Ring
Kingmoor Ring
Anglo-Saxon England, which lasted from the 5th to the 11th century, was a period marked by the settlement of Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons, and Jutes) in Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire. The Anglo-Saxons established a number of kingdoms, including Wessex, Mercia, and Northumbria, which eventually unified under a single monarch. Society was organized around farming, local communities, and a warrior elite, with a strong emphasis on loyalty and kinship. The Anglo-Saxons are known for their contributions to English law, culture, and language, as well as the spread of Christianity, which transformed religious and cultural life. The period ended in 1066 with the Norman Conquest, but the legacy of Anglo-Saxon England continued to influence the development of medieval England.
